a few pencils. If Hitler gives 24 pencils to Stalin, the ratio of number of
pencils with Hitler to number of pencils with Stalin becomes reciprocal of its
initial value. How many pencils should Hitler give Stalin so that they now have
equal number of pencils?

Suppose the initial ratio is x : y
If Hitler gives 24 pencils to Stalin then the new ratio becomes y
: x
That means the number of pencils with Hitler and Stalin gets
interchanged
That means Hitler had 24 more pencils than Stalin has

Hitler should give 12 pencils to Stalin so that the number of pencils with them
will be equal
